Early Life
Cindy Swanepoel was born on 15 December 1981 in the mining city of Krugersdorp in West Rand, Gauteng Province of South Africa. Although her parents had her in the West Rand, she was raised in Pretoria.
Education
Cindy Swanepoel studied and completed her studies at Durbanville High School in Cape Town.
After her graduation and matriculation, she enrolled in a degree program in Drama and Arts at the University of Stellenbosch.
Career
Cindy Swanepoel made her debut in acting in the theatre production by Artscape ‘Circles in the Forest’. It was directed by Marinda Engelbrecht.
The production was performed in 2004 at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival. In the same year, she landed an acting role at the KKNK festival.
In search of more acting opportunities, she moved to the largest city in South Africa ‘Johannesburg’. She made her first television acting debut in the popular series, Egoli: Place of Gold. The gifted actress played July in the show.
In 2008, she appeared in a theatrical production, Houtkruis. The production was directed by Elzette Maarschalk. In 2011, she performed in another production, Stephen van Niekerk.
Eventually, Cindy Swanepoel was cast in production by Alby Michaels titled The Crucible. She has also appeared in other television shows like The Mating Game, Skeleton in the Closet, and 90 Plein Street.
She has also appeared in much local television series like 7th Avenue, Generations, and Villa Rosa. She has secured roles in comedy shows like Pros Street and Laugh Out Loud. The gifted actress bagged a role on the kykNET series, Sterlopers.
In the popular movie titled Getroud Met Rugby, she portrayed the role of Chrystal.
Cindy played starring roles in other films including Nation’s Garage, Ballad for a Single, and The Street’s Bull.
In a collaboration with two partners, she founded ‘Pôkô Events and Productions‘. The company is a film production company that has its primary focus on productions in children’s theater.
In 2013, Cindy Swanepoel landed another starring role in Curl Up and Dye. The show was directed by interdisciplinary artist Sue Pam-Grant. Cindy was cast as Annelize Roux on Binnelanders, a popular soap opera in 2015.
