Biography
Matome Chiloane is a South African-born politician. He is the current Gauteng Education MEC and a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature representing the ANC.
In the legislature, he serves as the chairperson of the education committee. He is the provincial chairperson of the ANC Youth League.
Chiloane is a member of the African National Congress.

Career
Matome won the 2014 election as the chairperson of the African National Congress Youth League in Gauteng. He became a sworn member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature on March 20, 2018.
Chiloane is the chairperson of the education committee in the legislature. He became a member of the Standing Committee of Chairpersons in the legislature on February 28, 2022.
Chiloane is also a member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts-gau in the legislature since February 18, 2022.
On June 13, 2019, he became a member of the Petitions Committee-Gau in the legislature.
Chiloane is a member of the current ruling party African National Congress. From April 23 to May 8, 2019, he was the 7th Candidate at ANC Provincial Gauteng Election List 2019.
Matome served as a member of the Roads and Transport Committee in the legislature until May 7, 2019. He was also an alternate member of the Social Development Portfolio Committee.
Until May 7, 2019, he was a member of the Petitions Committee-Gau in the legislature. He served as an Alternate Member at Infrastructure Development Committee-gau until May 2019.
From April to May 2014, he was the 58th Candidate in ANC Provincial Gauteng Election List 2014.
In October 2022, Premier Panyaza Lesufi appointed Matome Chiloane as the new Education MEC.
