Biography

Terence Bridgett (born on April 11, 1975) is a South African actor. He is best known for playing Chico Booysens in the SABC3 soap opera Isidingo. The role won him the Avanti Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2001.

The talented actor has graced South African television screens for over twenty-five years. He has spent twenty years in local telenovelas and soap operas.

Bridgett appeared first in Hotnodsgode and has appeared in many dramas, soap operas, and sitcoms.

Early Life

Terence Bridgett was born on April 11, 1975, in Cape Town. He spent his childhood days and schooled before moving to Johannesburg. He comes home occasionally to do a musical, a Shakespeare, or a series. 

Education

Bridgett attended the Drakensberg Boys Choir School. He studied and matriculated at SACS.

Terence holds a BA, Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama from UCT Drama School. He earned a Fleur du Cap nomination for Most Promising Student. 

Career

The actor has been acting for decades. Lately, he made guest appearances in many series like Legacy, Recipes for Love, and Murder. He also appeared in the Netflix series, Ludik.

Terence played Dr. Leonard September in the hospital drama Jozi-H. In 2011, he starred in the SABC2 variety comedy show Colour TV.

The talented actor has starred in soap operas like 7de Laan and Backstage. He also played lead roles in the series – Zero Tolerance, Snitch, and The Lab.

Bridgett appeared in the MTV base mockumentary comedy show Stay Off The Grass in 2007. He plays a failed actor and bank clerk Lesley Labaschagne. He assisted people with issues relating to music.

Wong September is his role in season 2 of the SABC2 drama series Erfsondes, in 2008. He bagged a SAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2010.

The actor appeared as a regular cast in the SABC2 sitcom Konsternasie Oppie Stasie in 2009. He played the owner of a chic designer boutique, Clayton La Toiya.

Bridgett played Warrick Paulse in the M-Net soap opera Binneland. He teamed up with a good friend, Paul du Toit, to star in the travel documentary series Rof of Spog (Rough or Smooth). 

SABC2 broadcast the series in Afrikaans, and Mzansi Magic aired it in English.

Terence starred as Nathan Jantjies, a member of parliament, in the SABC2 parliamentary drama series 90 Plein Street. He became a cast member of the soap opera Generations in 2017, portraying family man Michael and debuted in December 2017. 

The Cape Town actor starred in the Afrikaans Christmas movie Liewe Kersveesvader in 2017. He is the writer and director of the short transgender-themed film Fluid.

Terence stars in the kykNET drama Knapsekêrels, making his debut in 2018.

Apart from acting, he spends time teaching. He teaches screen acting and Shakespeare to secondary school and final-year students. He is also a writer, producer, and director and has worked with many clients in the corporate market.

Bridgett has a company, The Fixer. It is an audition preparation, self-tape hub, and personal performance coach business.
