About this Scholarship

Every year, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) presents the International Physician Scholarship program, previously known as Scholarships for Physicians in Developing Countries, designed specifically for professionals from developing nations.

The aim of the International Physician Scholarship Fund is to facilitate educational opportunities for physicians residing in low and middle-income countries, as classified by the World Bank. Its purpose is to enable them to attend and actively engage in the Annual Assembly.

This scholarship program offers financial assistance of up to $5,000 to cover various expenses typically associated with attending the Annual Assembly. These expenses comprise registration fees and travel-related costs, encompassing airfare, taxi fares, meals, and accommodation.

Scholarship recipients who attend the Annual Assembly will have the invaluable opportunity to access the latest clinical insights and research updates in hospice and palliative care, presented by esteemed experts in the field.
