Babili Amos Shili, (born January 18, 1989) best known by his stage name Aymos, is a South African singer and songwriter. He worked with the record producer Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa on the hit single, Emcimbini.

Amos is among the few artists taking the amapiano to the next level across South Africa. He collaborated with producer Juls on the song Tembisa.

Aymos was new to amapiano when he dropped the hit single Emcimbini and had recently met with DJ Maphorisa. The record producer asked him to come to the studio.

Early life

Aymos was born Babili Amos Shili in Tembisa, Johannesburg. The 34-year-old grew to sing at churches and formed his choir while in high school.

The singer would sing praise and worship in church and directed a chorus in high school. He was passionate about music and used his bus money to get a piano once.

Career

Seasonal singer Aymos and Mas Musiq collaborated on an album Shonamalanga in 2020. The effort earned their work a nomination at the 27th South African Music Awards for Best Amapiano Album and Best Duo/Group of the year.

In September 2021, he released his first album, Yimi Lo. The work featured top music personalities like Kabza De Small, Major League DJz, Josiah De Disciple, and DBN Gogo.

Aymos made collaboration on African Lullabies Part 2, an album by Platoon, in 2022. His work with the singer-performer Ami Faku titled Fatela, released on October 2022, was certified platinum in South Africa.
