Biography
Edwin van der Walt (born March 14, 1991) is a South African actor. He is best known for appearing in several featured films. He was a cast member of Ballade vir ‘n Enkeling, Modder en Bloed, and My Father’s War.
The 32-year-old actor is also a familiar face with television viewers. He starred in the kykNET drama series Sara se Geheim and appeared in many others.

Early Life
Edwin van der Walt was born on March 14, 1991, in Pretoria, South Africa. He has built himself a credible personality on-screen. He studied film for a year and a three-year Drama degree at the University of Stellenbosch.
Career
Eventually, he developed a love for doing impersonations of Mr. Bean and Australian rugby commentators. While in school, he performed well as a Rugby player and Athlete.
In the 2008/09 season, he played 1st Team Rugby for Paarl Boys High. The team selected him as Vice-Captain and head of people’s (teammates) relations.
The Natal Sharks Academy approached him to consider a 2010 contract with the Sharks u/20 rugby academy. His love for storytelling and filmmaking overshadowed his passion as an athlete.
While in school, he got cast in a professional play directed by Marthinus Basson. After working with Basson, he developed skills that began to create opportunities for him in movie, TV, and theatre projects.
Edwin was a nominee for many awards after the breakout film, Ballade vir ‘n Enkeling by Quentin Krog. Since then, he has appeared in many films, television, and theatre projects.
In 2020, he started an Online Education Platform.

Edwin appeared in seasons one, two, and three of the drama Fynskrif as Wian Marais. He played Greg in the SABC2 Period drama Onder die Suiderkruis.
The multifaceted actor landed another role, Gas-deelnemer, in season one of Parlement Parlement. For two seasons, he played Gerhard in the kykNET drama Sara se Geheim.
Edwin played Theo in seasons one and two of the Comedy series Troukoors and Stefan Jordaan in season one of the drama Waterfront.
