Edyth Bulbring is a Boksburg-born South African writer and journalist. She worked as a journalist for fifteen years and worked for Sunday Times as a political correspondent. She covered the constitutional negotiations and the first democratic elections.Â
Bulbring has authored many books like The Summer of Toffie and Grummer, The Club, and Snitch.

Early Life
Edyth Bulbring was born in Boksburg, a city on the East Rand of Gauteng, South Africa. She spent her childhood days in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
Her parents sparked her love for reading. Every morning she would lie in bed between them while they read newspapers.
Education
Edyth studied History and politics at the University of Cape Town. She obtained an MBA from the University of Witwatersrand in 1999.
Career
Journalism
Edyth worked as a journalist for fifteen years. She worked as the political correspondent at the Sunday Times. While working for Sunday Times, she covered the first-ever democratic elections.
She has also worked as a switchboard operator at a newspaper.
Writing
As a full-time writer, she sources her inspiration from people she meets daily. People like her builders, Trevor and Phineus, and an elderly Portuguese dressmaker called Louisa. Her family is also a great source of inspiration.
Her second book was The Summer of Toffie and Grummer, published by OUP.
Personal Life
Edyth Bulbring is a wife and a proud mother of three children; two daughters and a son. She had wanted to be an air hostess to travel the world. She likes junk shops, dogs, and trees.
The renowned writer has a home in Johannesburg, where she loves to write. She lives in the Western Cape.
