The prominent fashion designer Jessica Jane Molebatsi was born in 1986 in the coastal city of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal. Her father, Joachim, and mother reside in Free State.

Her father enjoys watching rugby and braai. Growing up, she became interested in fashion as a young girl and began on a large cutting table.
