Biography
Morgan Mammila is a South African-born football manager and former investigative officer. He has worked with many PSL clubs and is well known for working as Chippa United’s coach.
He started his journey as a taxi owner, to a police officer, and then as a football coach. He was also a club owner in the low divisions.
Mammila has worked under many categories as General Manager and CEO. His work is evident in the output of the team he manages. After he left Chilli Boys in 2019, after serving as the CEO, he returned to the Eastern Cape club.

Career
When he served as a police officer in Johannesburg, Morgan bought the status of a SAB League team.
Baroka chairman noticed how he ran his team and offered Morgan to join his team. At first, Morgan did not agree since he worked for the government, which has many benefits.
Eventually, he agreed to work with the club part-time, and the chairman persuaded him to leave the police service.
In July 2020, Mammila returned for a second stint at Absa Premiership club Chippa United.
After joining the Eastern Cape side in the 2018/19 season, he was the CEO for four months before he quit the job.
Mammilla later returned to Chippa United as the general team manager: of football and compliance. He has worked as the CEO at KwaZulu-Natal GladAfrica Championship side Royal Eagles.
In January 2020, he joined Chippa as the CEO after he left Baroka FC.
In March 2021, the former Chippa United general manager joined Chilli Boys. The club had fired him twice, but he returned for the third time.
His first job at Mpengesi’s club was in the 2018/19 season after he quit his position as CEO of Baroka FC.
After four months, he joined the Sbu Mpisane’s Royal Eagles in the first division. He was the CEO at KwaZulu-Natal GladAfrica Championship side Royal Eagles.
Before he became Chippa’s general manager, he was an investigative officer at the South African Police Service (SAPS). He also worked for Baroka FC.
Mamilla was the first CEO of BCM Stars, formerly Peace Makers FC, before Mpengesi’s son, Sandiso Mpengesi, bought the club.
Morgan Mammila led the Chilli Boys to a 2-1 victory in a match against Kaizer Chiefs in the DStv Premiership at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban, in October 2022.
Aside from defeating Kaizer Chiefs, Chippa United also boasts a 2-1 victory against AmaZulu. The Chilli Boys also defeated Marumo Gallants 1-0 in the same season.
