Oros Mampofu was born on August 27, 1990, in Umtata in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. His father is a pastor and businessman. Coming from a Christian family made him the disciplined man he is today.

Nkokheli relocated to East London for studies. The actor completed high school at Tableview High School, South Africa.

His father has always supported his ambitions, dreams, and careers. As a young child, Oros joined the choir in his church which inspired him to try music as a profession. He had most of his childhood experience in the Fort Gale area.

Oros Mampofu is a multitalented South African actor. He is best known as Jama from the SABC1 soap opera Skeem Saam. The character is Thabo Maputla’s roommate at the university.

Nkokheli started acting in 2014 when he appeared in the SABC1 drama series Kowethu. In 2015, he landed the role of Andile in the Mzansi Magic Original Movie Rise.

The actor was among the twelve finalists in season one of the BET reality competition Top Actor SA. His performance amazed judges earning him sixth place.

Mampofu appeared in Shona Fergon’s production Mzansi Magic drama series Igazi in 2016. He played the starring role of Prince Phila Mbangatha.
