She attended the University of Witwatersrand (Wits University). In 1982, Precious enrolled in the institution to study for an MBBCh degree graduated in 1987. She then became a general practitioner and hospital physician.
She also holds a diploma in Children’s health. Upon furthering her academic pursuit, she attended the Stellenbosch University. She graduated from the institution with a diploma in Women and Reproductive Health.

Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe is married to Patrice Motsepe, a mining billionaire businessperson. The couple cemented their union with a wedding in 1989.
The couple is happily married and the love they share made three (3) children; Kgotsi, Kabelo, and Thlopie. She resides in the city of Johannesburg with her family.
Career
Apart from being a loving mother and wife, she is also a fashion designer. She boasts of over two decades of experience as a general practitioner.
She worked for the Medical College of Virginia. During her days there, she developed an interest in women’s health and it waxed strong. In 1993, she came back to the country and started one of the first women’s health clinics in Johannesburg.
Dr. Motsepe is the founder of the Motsepe Family Foundation and was established in 1995. In 2017, she led the organization.
Dr. Precious’s strong interest in Fashion gave birth to African Fashion International. The organization serves as a source of encouragement to young designers in South Africa.
She has also run notable events in the country including Mercedes-Benz Fashion week in the city of Johannesburg and Cape Town.
In November 2019, following an announcement Moloi-Motsepe was to succeed Graça Machel as the chancellor of the University of Cape Town. She was to sit on the position on January 1, 2020.
She made it on the list of “Africa’s 50 Most Powerful Women” in 2020 by Forbes 2020.

Her family is also known in South Africa and beyond. According to Forbes, her family has an estimated net worth of around US$2,500,000,000 making them “South Africa’s wealthiest black couple”.
The couple however made their intention to donate half their wealth. They are the first couple from the African continent to make “The Giving Pledge”.
