Biography
Ntsetsao Viola Motsumi is a South African-born politician who has served her country in many political capacities. She belongs to the African National Congress (ANC), the current ruling party of South Africa.
Viola has served in the legislature as the deputy speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature. She is the youngest in South Africa to hold the position.
In 2022, she became a Member of the Executive Council for Education in the North West Province.

Early Life
Viola Motsumi was born in Madibe-Makgabane village in North West, South Africa.
Education
In 2001, After matriculation at Mmabatho High School, she studied Physics (B.Sc.) at North-West University.
Viola also holds a postgraduate certificate in education and a BScHons in microbiology. In 2019, Viola graduated with an MBA from North West University.
Career
Before Politics
After her undergraduate studies, she worked as a teacher at Mmabatho High from 2008 to 2015.
Politics
After the May 2019 election, Viola became a Member of the North West Provincial Legislature, representing the ANC.
On May 22, she was sworn in as an MPL and became the deputy speaker taking power from Jane Manganye. The position made the youngest deputy speaker in South Africa.
On November 22, 2022, Premier Bushy Maape appointed her Motsumi as a Member of the Executive Council for Education. This appointment followed the reshuffle of his executive council.
