#1 Stipend Hungaricum Scholarship / Hungary Government Scholarship:
Every year around 5,000 Hungary government scholarships get announced for the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degree levels. Students who want to apply for this scholarship must not worry about their IELTS test scores. The requirement for IELTS is not obligatory if applicants hold any other English Language Proficiency certification. Plus, there are no application fees for it to apply for Stipendium Hungaricum.
However, the Hungarian scholarship duration and grants may vary with the chosen degree program. Please note that it is a fully-funded scholarship. So, apply before it is too late. Almost all the universities in Budapest are giving this scholarship.
#2 Central European Exchange Program University Scholarship / CEEPUS Scholarship:
It is the scholarship offered by the Central European University for Undergraduate, post-graduate, and Doctoral degrees. It is a joint program of a minimum of 3 universities in 3 different countries. To become eligible for this program, the applicant must be a student in the university of any CEEPUS country. On the other hand, those who do not have citizenship must share the documents of “equal status” of the CEEPUS country.
Applications can get submitted independently or via the CEEPUS network. However, the deadline for application is;
- 15th June for the autumn term.
- 31st October for the spring term.
#3 Diaspora Hungary Scholarship Program:
That unique Diaspora scholarship program has been designed especially for the people who live in Hungary’s diasporas. Obuda University is offering this valuable scholarship, available for the following degrees;
- Bachelors.
- Masters.
- One-tier Masters.
- Doctoral degree.
- Post-graduate specialist training courses.
- Non-degree programs.
To apply for a Diaspora scholarship, candidates must submit the required supportive documents like; Language proficiency certificate, Motivation letter, Recommendation letter from the Diaspora Organization, etc.
Similarly, only those candidates who have a Hungarian identity are eligible. Also, the candidates must show that they have lived at least 10 years outside Hungary before applying.
#4 Erasmus Mundus Hungary Scholarships:
The European Union has announced a flagship program known as the Erasmus Mundus. It aims to upgrade the higher education level by giving scholarships to deserving candidates.

#8 Scholarship Program for Young Christian People:
Tempus Public Foundation has organized this scholarship program. It aims to aid the young Christian people with the help of the State Secretariat and the Hungary Help program. Applications for this scholarship program are currently open with no application charges. Candidates do not have to submit a separate application to Eotvos Loránd University or the chosen university for this scholarship.

#9 Visegrad Scholarship Program by Semmelweis University:
It is a post-graduate scholarship program announced for the nationals of Visegrad countries and available for master’s and post-graduate studies. Scholarship winners will get a grant of €2,500 for every four semesters. However, students enrolled in post-graduate studies will receive a tuition grant for up to ten months.
