Croatia Scholarships Without IELTS in 2024: Study for free in Croatian Universities

Croatia offers a variety of fully/partially funded scholarships without IELTS in 2024 for an academic batch of 2024. Currently, Croatian scholarships applications for the 2024-2025 batch are being accepted by all Croatian Universities. IELTS is never a mandatory requirement for admissions in Croatian Universities when admissions in English taught programs are requested. Universities in Croatia also accepts TOEFL, DET, Cambridge English CAEL, and other tests as English language proficiency requirement.

#1 Zagreb School of Management and Economics Scholarships:

If you want to study, business or management, your best bet in Croatia is the Zagreb School of Management and Economics. There are 28 scholarships reserved for bachelor’s students and 12 scholarships for MBA candidates. Students from, USA, South America, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia are eligible to apply. 

Undergraduate awards are of two types, the first one offers, 2000 EUR per academic year and the second one offers 1,000 EUR per year. The graduate award is also divided into the same two categories. Students can get the scholarship for more than one year if they manage to keep a CGPA of 3.5 or more.

#2 Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Program:

This Erasmus Mundus scholarship program lets the recipients study in multiple European countries during the course of their degree program including Croatia. Students with an undergraduate degree can apply for this scholarship program. It is a fully-funded scholarship program and is pretty generous.

Erasmus Mundus provides support in terms of tuition, accommodation, health insurance, administrative charges, installation charges, living expenses, etc. Students from inside and outside of the EU and EEA can apply, though non-EU students are more benefited from this European scholarship.

#3 The Central European Exchange Program:

The Central European Exchange Program for University Studies or CEEPUS is a notorious exchange program in Central Europe. The program offers funding to both teachers and students to study and conduct research. The scholarship provides accommodation support, medical insurance, administrative expenses support, and a monthly stipend to help the recipients cover their living expenses. The amount of stipend varies from country to country.

Some of the countries associated with this scholarship program are Croatia, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Hungary, Australia, and Slovenia.

The period of the scholarship or exchange program is 3 to 10 months. During this time, the exchange students do not have to pay tuition fees.

#4 Research Scholarships in Croatia:

Ministry of Science, Education, and Sports of Croatia is offering research scholarships to deserving candidates. Under this scholarship program, students from selected countries will be able to conduct joint research, which means the research will be conducted partly in Croatia and partly in the recipients’ home countries. At this time, around 200 research projects are underway.

The fields in which most researches are being performed are technical science, natural science, medicine, and biotechnical science. The period of funding is up to two years. Students from countries like India, the USA, Hungary, Slovenia, France, Germany, and Austria are eligible to apply.

#5 Bilateral Programs’ Scholarships:

This Croatian Bilateral Scholarship Program offers educational support in the form of exchanging students and supporting research projects. It offers around 400 European Scholarships per annum. Students, teachers, professors, and researchers can apply for this European scholarship. There are many different categories of this scholarship. Some of these European scholarships are discussed below:

  1. One semester’s tuition funding will be provided to those students who are studying the Croatian language in some foreign country.
  2. Educational expense support to students studying in undergraduate and graduate programs in Croatia.
  3. Funding to doctoral students for up to three years (one year being the minimum period of the scholarship)
  4. Research support to post-doctoral candidates for up to 10 months.
  5. Support to students in the form of funding their research-related visits abroad. The visits can be up to ten months.
  6. Free summer programs for deserving students.
