Sdumo Mtshali (born 3 March 1983 in Durban) is an award-winning South African actor. He walked into the spotlight for emerging winner of Class Act, in 2010. He took home the winner prize on the SABC1 reality competition season one.

In October the same year, he was cast on the SABC1 drama series Intersexions. Appearing on the series brought him his first leading dramatic role.

The entertainment industry has grown so wide and people utilize the career options that follow. Even with the involvement of many in the industry, only the skilled and talented can survive in the long run.

Despite the competition in the industry, Sdumo Mtshali has managed to remain relevant in the industry. He has further made a name for himself with his unique acting style which is visible in the series he has appeared in so far.

His date of birth is on 3 March 1983 and the place of birth is at King Edwards Hospital in Durban, South Africa. Sdumo Mtshali is 38 years old. The actor has always wanted to appear on the screens as an actor even as a child. 

His background in theatre and the roles he played in productions play a huge role in his profession today.

Dreams came through for the actor after he began to act at a young age. Sdumo landed the role in the play Robin Hood: Men in Tights at the time he was 11.

In 2010, among other hopefuls, he attended the audition for Class Act. He later emerged winner of the competition. Later, he went running an eight-week lesson in acting at the New York Film Academy, which was part of the winning prize.

In 2014, he was nominated for the SAFTA Golden Horn, Best Actor – TV Soap Isibaya.

The year 2015 saw another nomination he received, Sdumo Mtshali was a nominee for the SAFTA Golden Horn, Best Actor – Feature Film iNumber Number.

Another nomination came with the year 2016, for SAFTA Golden Horn, Best Actor – TV Drama, Saints & Sinners.

In 2018, he was a nominee of the SAFTA Golden Horn, Best Actor – TV Drama, Is’Thunzi.

In 2019, he took home the SAFTA Golden Horn Award for Best Supporting Actor – TV Drama, Is’Thunzi (2016). Still, in the same year, he received a nomination for SAFTA Golden Horn for Best Actor – TV Soap, Isibaya.

He landed a role in Intersexions, an SABC1 drama series, which was his first leading dramatic role.

In 2011, he was cast as Maidi Kotwe on Rhythm City. He portrayed the role for one year, on the show, Maidi is a medical student and was a husband to Nozipho Kotwe and was caught up in a love triangle with Tshidi.

In 2013, he portrayed the role of Kuti Daniels (a starring role) in Tempy Pushas. His background in theatre and acting gained him exposure.

He has also worked a series of odd jobs like at Marine World. When he returned to the country, he landed a role in the Donovan Marsh film iNumber Number. This is another prize for emerging the winner of the Class Act.

In 2012, Sdumo was cast as Spikiri in the feature film directed by Rolie Nikiwe, Inside Story. Though he hails from Durban, he stays in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In the Mzansi Magic popular television series, isiBaya, he appears as the Sibusiso “S’bu” Ndlovu, the youngest son of Samson.
