Ayanda Ntanzi (born January 31, 1992) is a South African gospel singer. He has released many songs and has continued to soar higher in the music industry.

His songs have gained massive airplay, and he has continued to drop more albums. Some of his works include Priestly Worship and Udumo.

Although he has grown into a big name, he never thought of being a gospel singer. He loved singing as a child and started his music career due to his love for God and dropped the hit song Nasempini.

The music artist lost his mother as a young child but beat the odds. He has also dropped other hit songs like Safe, Nasempeni, and He is Alive.

Ayanda Ntanzi was born on January 31, 1992, in Pietermaritzburg, capital of KwaZulu-Natal. His uncle and aunt raised him after his mother’s death.

They took him into their home when he was eight years and was his guardian. He had to deal with losing his mother at that age. The artist healed after several years. He comes from a family of singers who influenced him to follow the music path.

Growing up, he would sing songs by Masibuye ku Jehova, Amaphoyisa asoLundi, and Imvuselelo Yase Natali with his family.

The family inspired him to devote his talent to his Christian faith.

Education

Ayanda graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in May 2020. He obtained an LLB degree via a virtual ceremony.

Career

Though the singer had been singing from a young age, he ventured into the industry officially in 2014. Nqubeko Mbatha mentored and invited him to join the Gospel Classic TV show. 

Koko Records signed him after a year, and he released his first album. Many in the industry noticed his work, and the singer was a nominee for Best Newcomer at the SABC Gospel Crown Awards.

The 2015 album Udumo (Fame) also earned him Best Urban Contemporary Gospel, and he gained worldwide recognition.

In 2017, the artist recorded and dropped Priestly Worship, a critically-acclaimed Live CD, and DVD at the Durban Playhouse. It housed many hit tracks like the award-winning single, Nasempeni.

At the 2018 SABC Gospel Crown Awards, he took home the Best Praise Song award. The same year, he took part in the sold-out multi-award-winning spirit of praise show.

Ayanda and the renowned Gospel music star, Benjamin Dube, held a performance that has over 10 million views on YouTube. He launched the company Royal Priest Productions to empower young and upcoming artists.

As a law student in 2020, Ntanzi dropped out, According to Grace. It houses top live performances like Wena Jesu and Grace Upon Grace.

Ayanda Ntanzi was dating Durban Gen actress Nelisiwe Sibiya. They started dating when they were in varsity.

Eventually, they got engaged, but the relationship didn’t work out. Even after an English engagement, they ended it in 2019.

Among the reasons why they broke up was their different belief systems. Though they broke up, they are still on good terms. Another reason was that Ayanda was holding her back. On August 6, 2022, Ayanda Ntanzi married Saneh.
