Eligibility Criteria for Canada Graduate Scholarships:

- The applicant must be a Canadian citizen/ permanent resident or a Protected Person under the Refugee act.
- The applicant must be enrolled or getting enrolled in the full-time Master’s or Doctoral program at Canadian higher institutions with CGS shares.
- The applicant must apply for admission within the deadline of an eligible graduate program.
- The applicant must not have previously held a CGS scholarship.
- The applicant must have obtained first-class leverage in the last two years of study.
- Applicants are allowed to submit only one scholarship or fellowship application per academic year to NSERC, CIHR, or SSHRC.
Eligible Programs for Canada Graduate Scholarship Scholarships:
Students must enroll in one of the following course programs at renowned Canadian higher institutions to become eligible for the Canada Graduate Master’s scholarship program:
Joint Programs, including;
- DVM/Ph.D.
- MD/Ph.D.
- JD/Ph.D.

- MA/MBA
- Clinically Oriented Programs
However, all the chosen graduate degree programs must contain a research element that enables the candidates to work on a thesis, dissertation, clinical trial, research project, scholarly publication, etc. Similarly, simple MS degrees with no clinical research work are not eligible for the Canadian Graduate Scholarships program.
Application Process for Canadian Graduate Scholarship Program:
Well, the application process is online. Candidates can submit their applications via the Research Portal of the Government of Canada’s official site. Click on create applications and choose the Canada Graduate Scholarship program as the funding opportunity. Once you have it done, choose the title of your application that reflects your research topic. Then, select the field of your research. If you have chosen health as your research field, you must provide a CIHR personal identification number (PIN) with your application.
After selecting the field, the list of institutions will be opened, granting the Canada Graduate Scholarship award. So, choose the institute of your choice and the degree program for which you are requesting a scholarship. After this, enter the number of months that will be completed by December 31st of the year of application.
Meanwhile, documents for the Canadian Graduate Scholarship program must be uploaded in the required format. Similarly, password-protected documents will not be entertained. Also, submit the three Reference Assessments with your application before the deadline.
Another point to ponder is that no changes are accepted once the application is submitted. In the same way, late submissions or incomplete applications will not be considered. The application status can be checked on the Research portal site at the Open under the Action column.
Selection Criteria:
Winners of Canada’s Graduate Scholarship will be selected considering previous academic records, research skills, critical thinking ability, past work experience or academic training in the chosen research field, personal characteristics, leadership experience, and interpretation skills.
